Castle Bromwich, United Kingdom ‐ Nov 9, 2023

We will end our trip in the UK and visit the former manufacturing home of the classic Spitfire. This plane was utilized by the Royal Air Force and is just an awesome plane. It had a very flat design and it had a Rolls Royce V12 Engine.
Warsaw, Poland

Now we are going to go to Warsaw, Poland, where the invasion of Poland was put on by the Germans. The German Luftwaffe used the infamous Stuka dive bombers. This was a pure bomber that struck terror on its enemies. When the plane would dive, it would make a sharp whistling sound that gradually got louder and louder. The Stucka had a BMW 132 Engine that was very powerful.
Kacha, Russia

I am going to visit the site of one of the first operations of the MiG 1 Soviet Fighter. The MiG was used by Russia and was one of thier only planes, they were nothing special, but the newer versions look unique with a jet wing design. The plane was made by Mikoyan, and newer versions have been used by many different countries.
Unalaska Island, United States

Now we will visit the Aleutian Islands of Alaska where perhaps the most unique plane of WWII, P-38 Lightning, was introduced in War. This had the iconic dual engine and was designed by Lockheed. The Lightning was ideal for Alaska as it had a long range of 3,300 Ferry Range. This could get to high speeds as well and was ideally equipped with M2 Browning Machine Guns.
Guadalcanal Island, Solomon Islands

We will try not to get Elephantiasis as we go to the site of The Battle of Guadalcanal of WWII, this is where the Vought Corsair was flown. The Corsair was the prime plane for the pacific theatre and was heavily utilized on aircraft carriers. It had a large 18 Cylinder engine and had 2,000 hp. This plane led to risky landings as pilot had to land the plane on aircraft carriers and get caught in a piece of elastic (see picture).
Freeman Field, United States ‐ Nov 7, 2023

Freeman Field is one of the first locations that the famed P-51 Mustang was tested. This plane was consistently one of the best planes of WWII. It was used in many battles and could fly over 30,000 feet easily. The Plane contained a Rolls Royce Merlin engine that was super powerful and optimal for the fighter.
Pearl Harbor

I want to go to see the site of the Japanese Ambush on December 7, 1941 that started American engagement in WWII. While I enjoy the history and understand the scale of the events that took place, I can also look at the great feat of Aircraft carriers that were built for the US Navy.
Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park, Japan ‐ Nov 7, 2023

The Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park is located on the first location of Japanese flight. Located in the museum are many marvels on aviation engineering including Japanese Zeros from WWII that were made of metal and extremely lightweight and maneuverable, which were very dominant at Pearl Harbor and many other attacks but became outdated later on by American planes such as the P51 Mustang and the Naval Corsair. Fun fact, the Zero was manufactured by now car company Mitsubishi.
